What happens when you cannot afford to purchase the supplements you believe will help you to heal and improve your life significantly?

And what makes you decide whether you can ‘afford’ healthcare, or not?

  • Do you have an iPhone?
  • Do you drive your own car?
  • Do you go out to eat?
  • How many shirts are in your closet that you never wear?

All those things cost money – we choose what to spend our money on, according to our priorities.

People often complain about the high cost of drugs, or surgery, but they usually do what it takes to purchase what they believe will help them. Many will sell their home or go bankrupt to pay for medical treatment.

Affordable Alternatives for Gut Healing Supplements

While this holds true for many people when it comes to buying natural supplements, others just don’t view supplements as important as drugs.

And then there are the people who truly can afford neither. This email from an LTYG reader is a good example:

“I am 81 years old and I do not have a lot of time ahead of me. I am living on Disability and Reverse Mortgage but not a big income. The book has good things I can get out of it, but the products are quite high, the full program is beyond reach.”

Gut Healing Supplement Hacks that Cost No More than Food

Although it would be ideal – and most powerful, faster, and more efficient to purchase the supplements recommended in my books – I’m going to give you a list of cheaper alternatives that will still help significantly:

1. Stool bulking (diarrhea) or Softening (constipation)

While I recommend ColonEaze in my books, you can use plain psyllium seed, or chia seed, or flax seed.

2. Detox

While I recommend bentonite clay or activated charcoal, you can use this Cilantro Pesto Detox Recipe. You can also pick fresh stinging nettle (wear gloves!), pour hot water over the leaves and drink it as a tea.

3. Probiotics (diarrhea, constipation, gut infection)

I recommend Natren probiotics in my books, but you can also use homemade yogurt, or kefir (but don’t use kefir if you’re sensitive to yeast), or fermented vegetables. Carrots fermented with ginger is an easy recipe. Just remember when culturing microbes at home, to keep all tools and surfaces sterile!

4. Elemental Diet (for gut healing)

I recommend Absorb Plus, but you can make your own food-based shakes using black bananas, yoghurt, avocado, raw milk (if you can get it), raw pastured egg yolks – here are some recipes. If you can, consume homemade bone broths. The other easy diet hack you can implement that will have a big effect, is to avoid or reduce grains (wheat, rice, oats, etc) and also avoid corn and soy.

5. Heal Mucosal Lining

I recommend MucosaCalm and George’s Aloe Vera in my books. But you can use powdered slippery elm and marshmallow root – mix together in warm water. Also make a tea from sliced ginger, hot water, raw honey and a squeeze of leman juice. This tea is also great for cold or flu.

6. Gut Infection (killing pathogens)

I recommend wild oregano oil combined with Natren probiotics. But you can use potassium iodide in water, 8 drops 3x/day on an empty stomach. Make sure your potassium iodide SSKI is at least 22 mg per drop.

See my podcast with Dr. Scott Tyler on why you don’t need to be concerned about your thyroid (unless you already have thyroid issues). You could also use very dilute, food-grade hydrogen peroxide in water.

Dr. David Williams give detailed instructions for using oral H202 in this article – scroll down to the section titled: Suggested Protocol. Remember that whenever you are killing microbes, you must replace them with good bacteria. (See Probiotics section above).

The MOST Important Gut Healing Supplements

If you do have a certain amount of money to spend, then the supplements that will give you the biggest bang for your buck are:

Natren probiotics + wild oregano oil.

Use as instructed in any of my books (see: Jini’s Wild Oregano Oil Protocol for instructions) and if you don’t have one of my books, then the cheapest one that contains this protocol is: Jini’s Natural Healing Guide: Gut Infection – for less than $10

FAQs About Gut Healing Supplements

1. What if I can’t afford Absorb Plus?

I give instructions about how to create your own elemental shake on pages 47 to 49 of my book, The IBD Remission Diet.

2. Is MucosaCalm safe for kids?

Yes, it is. Please see the Usage Instructions for specific directions on dosage amounts for children, or, consult your healthcare practitioner.

3. Can I add Natren probiotic powders to my Absorb Plus shakes, or should I mix the probiotics only with water?

I contacted Natasha Trenev, the founder/owner of Natren probiotics and asked her this question. She replied that yes, you can mix Natren probiotic powders with Absorb Plus, but you must follow these directions (you don’t want to shear the bacterial walls in a blender):

  • Whip up your Absorb Plus shake in the blender first as usual
  • Take out 2 ounces of shake and mix in your probiotics with a spoon, to form a smooth paste
  • Add the paste mixture back to the rest of the shake and stir well with a spoon to mix thoroughly
  • IF you are not using a blender, and only shaking everything in a BlenderBottle, then you can go ahead and add the Natren powders at the same time you add Absorb Plus. Shaking vigorously will not damage the bacteria.
  • Drink as usual

4. I have been experiencing severe bloating on the elemental diet using Absorb Plus – I thought this diet is supposed to heal me, not increase my symptoms?

Consuming food in strictly elemental (pre-digested) form often causes bloating. However, this is temporary and disappears once you taper down the shakes and begin eating regular food again. Ways to minimize the bloating include supplementing with Natren probiotics, and consuming the shakes at room temperature.

5. My husband has Crohn’s – we believe from a MAP infection. He is taking colloidal silver, probiotics, and fish oil. Is there a safe way to eat dairy or beef products? Aged cheese? Yogurt made with boiled milk? Burgers well done?

Since MAP is present even in the water – it is not so much about strictly avoiding it, but in treating the dormant/active lifecycle and continuing to strengthen the gut microbiota so that even if briefly exposed, the gut is resistant. So you want do Jini’s Wild Oregano Oil protocol (can do this alongside colloidal silver) every 3 months, or whenever symptoms rise again (indicating an active phase) and continue with the high dose Natren probiotics. Having said that, the worst infestation of MAP is in commercial milk. So only use RAW grass-fed dairy and beef, raw cheese, etc. There are many suppliers on the internet, or you can check here: www.realmilk.com
