I read a very interesting article from Dr. Ronald Hoffman about glaucoma – which is the #2 cause of blindness across the U.S. and the #1 cause of blindness for African-Americans and Hispanics.
He gave a couple of distinct recommendations (along with supporting studies) for substances like Gingko biloba and prescription eyedrops.
But what I found especially interesting is that the majority of the healing substances he recommends for glaucoma are supplements and practices you’re already doing – if you’re on my program for gut health! Which is really whole-body health; since the gut is the center of the immune system and the foundation of health for the entire body.
So continuing on from Dr. Hoffman’s article, my primary recommendations in LTYG (which are his exact same recommendations for preventing/healing glaucoma) have always included the following:
Reduce grains and sugar – increase healthy fats, protein, and non-starchy veggies. In the beginning, you need to start with well-tolerated veggies like cucumber, zucchini, acorn/butternut/spaghetti squash, carrots, avocado, etc.
Cod liver oil – loaded with Omega-3 healthy fat (or you can take Udo’s Oil or cold-pressed flax oil). What doesn’t benefit from Omega-3 EFA?? Shown in double-blind studies to produce remission in Crohn’s, one of the cornerstones of the Dr. Weston A. Price healing protocols, and beneficial for hair, skin, joints, and eye health.
Magnesium – of crucial importance for hundreds of bodily processes and I recommend atom-sized/nano form so it doesn’t irritate your gut and loosen your bowels.
Vitamin D3 – essential for the immune system (*requires Magnesium to be converted to its active form – hence you also need to take lots of magnesium!).
Vitamin C – again, crucial for the immune system and take in mineral ascorbate form so it doesn’t irritate/loosen your bowels
Targeted eye/gut health supplements – recommended by Dr. Hoffman for glaucoma, but my new formulation for Imix, MultiAbsorb Immune Booster, already contains therapeutic levels of each of these:
- Rutin
- Quercetin
- Pine bark extract (Pycnogenol or Enzogenol)
- Grape seed extract
- Vitamin A
- Mixed tocopherol Vitamin E
- Vitamin B3
- Zinc
- Selenium
- Lutein
- Zeaxanthin
If Cannabis would be helpful for you, then don’t smoke it and degrade your lungs – use it as a rectal suppository. Which is almost double in potency, so less expensive, as you can use less to get the same result.
Do you see how health is actually a whole-body picture? We can segment up the body into this condition, or that disease, but if we simply create and support a healthy body – mind/body/spirit ~ ALL the aspects of the body – then we’re fully sorted!
