In this article, we will discuss elemental diets and how to find the perfect elemental shake for your unique body.
What Are Elemental Diets?
Elemental diets are all about giving your body the nutrients it needs in an easy-to-absorb form, especially if you’re struggling with digestion or nutrient absorption. They’re like the ultimate fast-track to getting your body the good stuff it needs to thrive.
Exploring Elemental Shakes
Now, when it comes to elemental shakes, there’s a whole world of options out there. Whether you’re into vegan shakes, or prefer the creamy goodness of whey isolate, there’s something that’s bound to tickle your taste buds and give your body the boost it craves.
25 years ago, I was diagnosed with widespread Crohn’s disease, and let me tell you, it knocked me off my feet. After a colonic hemorrhage, I couldn’t even walk down the hallway to the bathroom without feeling like I’d run a marathon. I had to heal myself, because the medical system had no solutions. So, I created Absorb Plus. It helped me get back on my feet, and now it’s helping others too.
Deciding on the Best Elemental Shake for You
Choosing the right elemental shake can be a game-changer for your health journey. To learn more about elemental shakes and find the perfect fit for your unique body, watch the video below.
In the video, I explore elemental diets and discuss the significance of Absorb Plus shakes. Much like breast milk, Absorb Plus shakes are predigested, ensuring easy absorption and optimal nutrient uptake.
Introducing Absorb Plus
Absorb Plus holds a deeply personal significance for me. Formulated during a time of immense health challenges, when I was just 99 pounds at 5’7″ and battling severe hemoglobin deficiency due to a massive colonic hemorrhage, it became my lifeline.
At my weakest, I couldn’t even manage a short walk down the hallway. Absorb Plus was born from a necessity to rebuild my health from the ground up. From that frail state, I gradually regained strength, reaching 135 pounds and even returning to the gym three times a week.
It’s a testament to the transformative power of pre-digested nutrition. Regardless of your body’s condition or digestive challenges, Absorb Plus offers a source of nourishment that your body can readily absorb and utilize to kickstart the healing process, allowing you to embark on your own journey towards wellness.
It is entirely natural, and free from added artificial chemicals.
Understanding Your Body’s Needs
Before you pick a shake, take a moment to think about any dietary restrictions or allergies you might have. It’s important to find a shake that works with your body, not against it.
I also encourage you to try the single serving samples of different versions, first before getting a full-size tub. You can also split the sample size (equivalent of 4 scoops) down into 2 half-servings, or 4 quarter servings if you like.
The Role of Elemental Shakes in Healing
Shakes like Absorb Plus have been a game-changer for me on my healing journey. They’re predigested so your body can focus on healing and not on breaking down tough foods.
They also make food choice and prep super easy! For many, it’s a relief to not have to think about food for a while, yet know that all your body’s needs are being met.
Choosing the Right Elemental Shake
Now, when it comes to choosing the perfect elemental shake for you, quality is key. Look for shakes that are free from artificial additives and fillers. You want something that’s going to support your health goals, not work against them.
Exploring Elemental Diet Options
Don’t limit yourself to just shakes. Bone broths and homemade soups are also fantastic options for getting those essential nutrients into your system. I had a j-Pouch surgery almost 40 yrs ago. I had been reasonably fine until about 2 1/2 yrs ago when I feel had a sever inflammation in the cuff just above the anal sphincter. Previously I would take 1 Cipro tablet and I would be fine. That did not help and the inflammation led to fissures. My sphincter opening was getting smaller even before this episode and had push harder to get things out.
I have been trying to go for no or liquid output with Absorb Plus. If I take the full 4 scoops I get very burning output which aggravates everything. I am on vegan version now. Comfrey salve seem to calm things down. I even tried the comfrey enema and the probiotics enema in a lot smaller amounts 1/4 tsp in 2 oz of water.
My question is why am I getting the burning. I do drink water all day long. I have also been taking Probiotics. I am taking only 2 scoops about 4 time a day with MCT oil as Flaxseed oil gives me even more burning. I just stated taking Mucosacalm. I even used Mucosa calm with Comfrey as enema. How long should I do any of these enema to make a difference in the fissures if any. I tried the fissure heal but cannot get any more so trying to make my own. Can I put DMSo in the suppository. I see recipe for hemoroidal suppository. Will that work for fissures?
Any suggestion how to increase my calories and reduce my burning output?
I’m sorry to hear about the challenges you’ve been facing. Based on your description, it’s important to remember that transitioning to a new food source, especially a liquid or pre-digested one, can take time for the body to adjust. It’s normal to experience an adjustment period when beginning an elemental diet. However, be also alert for signs of intolerance, as the symptoms of adjustment and intolerance can sometimes appear similar.
Jini has provided a helpful guide to differentiate between symptoms of intolerance and the adjustment period. I recommend referring to the guide to assess whether your symptoms indicate intolerance or are part of the adjustment period: https://blog.listentoyourgut.com/started-an-elemental-diet-and-feel-worse/
Additionally, removing the MCT oil temporarily could help in identifying if it is contributing to your symptoms.
Regarding the anal fissures, as Fissureheal suppositories are currently unavailable, you may consider creating your own suppositories using alternative ingredients found in her Home Remedy for Anal Fissures. Experimenting with the ratios of ingredients to find what works best for you could be beneficial.
