Question: Dr. Mercola recommends avoiding Vitamin A, yet I notice you have Vitamin A in Absorb Plus – why is this?

Answer: To quote from Dr. Mercola’s article on this topic:

“Let’s clarify one thing: It’s the retinoic acid (retinol) form of vitamin A that is problematic. Not beta carotene. Beta carotene is not a concern because it is PRE-vitamin A. Your body will simply not over-convert beta carotene to excessive levels of vitamin A. So taking beta carotene supplements is not going to interfere with your vitamin D.”

So, if you read the Absorb Plus label, you’ll see that ALL of the Vitamin A in Absorb Plus is in beta carotene form. So it is perfectly safe and your body will only convert what it needs.

Absorb Plus also contains Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2 – two other nutrients that greatly benefit people in disease states. As Mercola points out, Vitamin D3 helps to balance Vitamin A – in fact Dr. Mercola is so keen on vitamins D3 and K2 that he has written numerous articles about each and he also sells both of them.
