I’m SO EXCITED about this new formulation for Imix Nutrition! These are my ideal formulas for bulking and softening stool to assist with regulating bowel movements. There is one version – FIRM – for people who tend towards diarrhea. And a second version – MOVE – for those who tend towards constipation.

ColonEaze for Diarrhea or Constipation

Some of you might remember a product we carried about a decade ago – called MetaCleanse? That product disappeared when their facility burnt down. Well ColonEaze is my version of that product, all-natural, mostly organic, no fillers/flow agents etc. My ideal blend of “binding” or bulking & softening agents, along with targeted herbs.

However, I think my version is actually better because I’ve removed the bentonite clay (which should only be used short-term as it removes ALL bacteria; good and bad) and added the beneficial, gentle herbs. Let me know what you think when you leave a product review!

COLONEAZE~MOVE FOR CONSTIPATION

ColonEaze Move for ConstipationColonEaze~Move is a stool softening agent to help relieve constipation and improve intestinal muscle tone and peristalsis. Specifically formulated to be gentle, yet effective, for people with sensitive bowels. ColonEaze~Move is a safe and natural soluble fiber therapy for gently encouraging healthy elimination without chemical stimulants or laxatives. If you’ve read my book, Listen To Your Colon, you’ll know why soluble fiber is preferable to insoluble fiber. It helps maintain regularity, along with gentle yet effective herbs to encourage detox and cleansing. Available in a loose powder that you can add to water or diluted fruit juice. Best if used on an empty stomach.

Take at the same time of day to promote regular bowel movements – if you want to have a bowel movement in the morning, then take ColonEaze~Move before bed (on an empty stomach). Start low and slow (1 tsp, once per day) and gradually build up to the amount your body needs.

If you find you need help to stimulate a bowel movement, you can take 250-500 mg of magnesium citrate with ColonEaze~Move, up to a maximum of 1000 mg per day.

If you would like to increase its action, then you can do so by either increasing the amount you take, or by increasing the frequency of dosage.

So this means you might want to increase to 1.5 teaspoons or 1 tablespoon every morning and see how your body responds. Or you might like to take 1 teaspoon in the morning and 1 teaspoon in the afternoon. People have used up to 2 tablespoons per dosage. So you may want to increase slowly and find the dosage/frequency that is right for your unique body.

There are no known contraindications for using ColonEaze long term, but as your gut health and diet improve, you may not need to take it every day, or you may wish to decrease the dosage etc.

But keep in mind, that ColonEaze~Move is designed to address the underlying issues around constipation (along with probiotic ingestion) so over time you should be able to decrease the amount of magnesium you use, to normal supplement levels. 125-250 mg of magnesium citrate per day is considered a normal level of magnesium supplementation.

What’s Different About ColonEaze~Move?

Most stool softeners or fiber therapies for constipation contain a lot of insoluble fiber. However, this can be irritating for sensitive guts, so ColonEaze~Move uses gentle, yet effective, soluble fiber.

The majority of the soluble fiber in ColonEaze~Move consists of organic psyllium seed powder; with a smaller amount of organic psyllium husk. Why? Because many people with sensitive guts can be triggered if they ingest a lot of psyllium husk, but they’re just fine (and helped) by psyllium seed. These are very different parts of the plant and they affect the intestines differently – so it’s important to get the ratio right.

Psyllium bulks up the stool (attracts/holds water if your stool is too hard), exercises the colon, evens out peristaltic rhythm, helps produce butyrate (anti-inflammatory for the gut), while it also becomes a food for probiotics. All of which help to maintain the integrity of the colon mucosal lining. Also, due to psyllium’s stool bulking ability, it is a valuable detox agent that helps sweep out toxins, die-off substances, or dead pathogens.

In addition, I added a blend of gentle, yet effective herbs (Indian sarsparilla root, artichoke leaf extract, dandelion root, Haritaki) to stimulate detox, and support the liver and kidneys (which become burdened when constipated). Many herbs that help with constipation are just too harsh for people with IBD and IBS and can trigger a flare. So I chose herbs that may work a bit slower, but are more beneficial to a sensitive gut.

If you’re having less than 1 bowel movement per day – use ColonEaze~Move

OR

If you’re having 1-3 bowel movements per day, but your stool is too hard in texture – use ColonEaze~Move

COLONEAZE~FIRM FOR DIARRHEA

Coloneaze Firm for diarrheaColonEaze~Firm is a stool bulking agent that relieves diarrhea by absorbing excess liquid, helping all those separate stool deposits clump/bind together, improving intestinal muscle tone, and helping to regulate/balance peristalsis. Available in a loose powder that you can add to water or diluted non-acidic fruit juice (like pear, apple, mango). Best if used on an empty stomach. Start low and slow (1 tsp, once per day) and gradually build up to the amount and dosage frequency (1-3x/day) your body needs.

The Organic acacia gum in ColonEaze~Firm does not just help absorb water and firm up your stool, it is actually healing for the gut. For centuries the thick amber-colored resin from Africa’s acacia senegal trees has been collected and ground into powders and pastes for traditional medicine.

Acacia has been used historically to treat bedsores and wounds, inflammation of the intestinal mucosa, and, when applied topically, to treat inflamed skin surfaces, burns, and nodular leprosy. The plant’s gum has also been used as an astringent, a cough and cold remedy, a treatment for diarrhea and dysentery, sore throats, and urinary infections.

This study shows that acacia is an effective free radical scavenger and chain-breaking antioxidant. Another study here added acacia and Bifidobacteria to yogurt and found a significant improvement in bowel movements and reduction of symptoms in patients with IBS.

The bilberry extract in ColonEaze~Firm, has been used since the Middle Ages to treat diarrhea, inflammation of the mouth, urinary problems, and diabetes. It’s also been used traditionally to prevent scurvy, due to its high vitamin C content.

ColonEaze~Firm also contains organic sprouted chia seed powder and organic psyllium seed powder. It does not contain psyllium husk. Why? Because many people with sensitive guts can be triggered if they ingest a lot of psyllium husk, but they’re just fine (and helped) by psyllium seed. These are very different parts of the plant and they affect the intestines differently – so it’s important to get the ratio right, and with diarrhea, it may be best to avoid psyllium husk altogether.

Psyllium seed and chia seed are gentle, soluble fibers that bulk up the stool (attracts/holds water and stool together), evens out peristaltic rhythm, and helps produce butyrate (anti-inflammatory for the gut), while it also becomes a food for probiotics. All of which help heal/maintain the integrity of the colon mucosal lining.

Due to psyllium and chia’s stool bulking ability, it is also a gentle detox agent and helps sweep out toxins, die-off substances, or dead pathogens – which is what your body is already trying to get rid of with diarrhea!

NOTE: 1.84% of women over age 60 have heart palpitations caused by psyllium. Either due to an allergic reaction or due to psyllium slowing down the digestion/absorption of carbohydrates, thus resulting in low blood sugar and increased heart rate.
