Why Ag1 VS MultiAbsorb Comparison?
People have been asking me if there’s anything similar to MultiAbsorb Immune Booster on the market and I think Athletic Greens (AG1) is the closest contender. This post will give a full comparison. It will also show how both products support overall health.
Note that a 30-day supply of AG1 costs $99. MultiAbsorb costs $52. That is nearly half the price.
Why?
Because Imix Nutrition (who manufactures MultiAbsorb) is owned by my husband, Ian Thompson. And all Imix products are formulated by me.
We want to get the best healing supplements to my readers at the best price. Simple. Yet somehow this results in a radical price difference.
We also don’t have to build a huge ad budget into the product cost. Not trying to become the next big thing! We just want to help real people get real results.
Our entire family and most of our friends use Imix products. We formulate and produce for our own children, along with hundreds of thousands of my readers with hypersensitive bodies.

Now let’s go deeper into how these products compare.
Cost Comparison and Ingredient Transparency
As I mentioned before, AG1 is priced at $99 for a 30-day supply. MultiAbsorb Immune Booster costs $52. That is almost half the cost.
AG1 uses proprietary blends. That means you don’t know the exact dose of each ingredient. For example, their Phytonutrients blend weighs 1.5 grams total. But it includes 21 powdered ingredients. That means only a very tiny amount of each.
Most consumers see this huge list of veggies and plants and think, “Wow, it’s got everything I need!” But the actual amount of each is so small, it’s unlikely to have any therapeutic effect. What good is 2 microns of broccoli powder? Or a grain of ginger?
A good way to visualize this is to know that a teaspoon of sugar weighs 5 grams. A teaspoon of ground ginger weighs 3 grams. So 1.5 grams total of 21 ingredients means you’re getting about half a teaspoon of all those things combined.
MultiAbsorb lists each ingredient clearly. No proprietary blends. You know the exact amount you are getting. This is a really easy way to check for proper dosages of essential nutrients.
So here we go – here’s the side-by-side comparison of the two products with some of my brief notes (<– click that link to download the pdf version).
Key Nutrients and Benefits
MultiAbsorb contains high (therapeutic-level) dosages of essential vitamins.
This includes the entire vitamin B complex at therapeutic levels, along with co-factors, like choline and myo-inositol.
These are known to support:
- Immune support
- Energy level
- Nervous system
- Normal psychological function
- Normal energy-yielding metabolism
- Maintenance of normal bones
- Gut health
- Intestinal mucosa
- Digestive support
- Normal digestive enzyme function
You do not need to buy separate supplements for vision/eye health, allergies, hemorrhoids, adrenal function, cardiovascular health, or immune-boosting. They’re all included.
If your system is super-sensitive and you cannot handle greens or herbs, start with MultiAbsorb Daily Essential.
It includes vitamins, antioxidants, bioflavonoids, trace minerals, and amino acids. Begin with just 1/4 or 1/2 scoop every other day, with food.
My favorite is the Orange-Mango flavor. I take it with breakfast or lunch. What you see in this photo is MultiAbsorb Daily Essential just after I added it to water. Wait 5 minutes, then stir, and it all dissolves beautifully. Yum!
If I’m having MultiAbsorb Immune Booster, I like to add that to a shake or smoothie. But my 84-yr-old Mum loves hers just mixed in water (she is in excellent health and takes no medications – she would not go a day without MultiAbsorb Immune Booster!).
Designed for Sensitive Bodies
MultiAbsorb does not contain artificial sweeteners. This is important for many people who have a hard time with regular greens powders. AG1 includes proprietary blends, and while it may support energy and gut health, the exact ingredients and amounts are not always clear.
MultiAbsorb is designed for people like me. People with sensitive systems. People who need healing, not hype.
Why Certain Ingredients Are Limited or Omitted
Some nutrients are purposely included in lower amounts:
- Vitamin C: Can loosen the bowel in higher doses; the mineral ascorbate form is much better tolerated than ascorbic acid.
- Calcium: Regular calcium may build up in the arteries and is thought to contribute to atherosclerosis.
- Magnesium: Regular forms can also loosen the bowel.
Instead, Imix Nutrition produces atom-sized ionic liquid minerals. These are absorbed instantly through the lining of the mouth, and do not require digestion. They are available separately and recommended in this highly absorbable form.
Other ingredients are excluded from MultiAbsorb for important reasons:
- ALA (alpha-lipoic acid): Often causes gastrointestinal discomfort, such as loose bowels or nausea.
- Iron: May trigger intestinal bleeding in those with IBD or irritate the gut.
- Phosphorus: Already present in other ingredients, such as B vitamins, so it does not need to be added.
No Probiotics – For a Reason
MultiAbsorb does not include probiotics. This is intentional. Probiotics feed all bacteria, not just the good ones. If your gut microbiota is not balanced, introducing probiotics can actually worsen issues. Bacteria fight for space – a concept known as competitive exclusion.
Also, all viable probiotics should be refrigerated from manufacturing through to consumption. Most products do not follow this standard, greatly reducing their effectiveness, with many species dead, by the time they are consumed.
Taste and Ease of Use
AG1 is praised for its taste and convenience, including travel packs. MultiAbsorb also mixes well and tastes good. Users say it is the best-tasting greens they have tried. It fits easily into a daily routine.
Many report a positive effect on energy and clarity. So your taste buds won’t notice the difference!
Customer Service and Support
Imix Nutrition provides great customer service. Many users leave genuine reviews. Free shipping is available. People say it helps them maintain a healthy lifestyle and good nutrition.
Important Considerations
This blog includes a medical disclaimer. Always check with your healthcare provider before starting new dietary supplements. There can be potential side effects. Especially if you take anticoagulant medication or other drugs.
These products are not made for young children unless advised by a doctor and dosage is adjusted according to the weight of the child.
Final Comparison
AG1 is well-known. It claims to conduct its own health research. It promotes itself as a green source of energy. But it uses proprietary blends, and the actual dose of each nutrient is unclear.
MultiAbsorb is more transparent. It includes high levels of essential nutrients. It supports digestive enzymes, good bacteria, and the normal functioning of many body systems.
If you want the best health supplement with clear dosages, MultiAbsorb is the best option. It provides a daily serving of real ingredients, in powder form.
Specially formulated by gut healing expert Jini Patel Thompson and ideal for people with IBS, IBD, gastric bypass, bariatric surgery, or other conditions that increase digestive sensitivity. It supports a healthy diet and overall health on a daily basis.
For healthy adults, this is a good idea. Especially if you’re looking for the right multivitamin with no fluff. MultiAbsorb gives your body what it needs. At a price that makes sense.
