I just had to post this account from Jay Baluk (a.k.a. The Gut Ninja, and formerly known as CROHNSBOY) who tried Jini’s Probiotic Retention Enema.
I love Jay because he’s SO candid and honest and blunt, and the photo on his post alone is so funny I just had to point you to it! But, WARNING: If you’re a very proper, straight-laced, kind of person, then it’s probably best if you give The Gut Ninja a miss. For me, I love Jay’s irreverent style and hope he never changes!
If you haven’t tried Jini’s Probiotic Retention Enema yet, maybe Jay’s story will inspire you. A probiotic retention enema is the fastest way to implant a mega-dose of beneficial bacteria straight into the colon – and lower part of the small intestine.
In Jay’s own words:
I wrote a BLOG about your enema stuff etc. It really is nothing short of amazing! I think that alone could pull most people out of their flares.
In the next few weeks I am going to start taking the healthy trinity if all goes well. As I think these will benefit me a lot as they get a lot of good bacteria into your gut.
I feel like 90% today, tenderness is slightly present but will go away within next few days. I’m glad I was able to learn first hand how that enema can heal you wow!
However, as Jay experienced, either ramp-up the dosage slowly, or watch out for the die-off (Herxheimer Reaction) effect.
I’m sorry I can’t give you quick instructions here for how to implement Jini’s Probiotic Retention Enema – the probiotic sections in my two books; Listen To Your Gut and Listen To Your IBS are over 30 pages long. This is because people with IBD (and severe IBS) need a good understanding of probiotics before they start dosing. If they don’t have all the detailed information on what to look for, how to proceed, etc. they risk triggering a flare. I do offer a complimentary Probiotic Report to get you started in this area of treatment. But for full and complete instructions, you really do need to get one of the books – remember, they both come with a 1 year guarantee (including return postage) so the risk is pretty minimal to try it out.
STOP PRESS!!!!
Okay SO MANY people have requested the Probiotic Retention Enema instructions (and my Wild Oregano Oil Protocol) I have now made both of these available as an E-BOOK, so just click here and I’ll send you both Jini’s Probiotic Retention Enema and Jini’s Wild Oregano Oil Protocol, in E-book format, for only $4.95
For those of you who haven’t heard about these protocols before, here’s what each of them does:
Jini’s Wild Oregano Oil Protocol
This protocol is based on Inflammatory Bowel Disease being an infectious disease (or having an infectious component). Think of how often gastroenterologists prescribe antibiotics like Cipro and Flagyl/Metronidazole – sound familiar?
There are two ways to eliminate infectious microorganisms: Antimicrobial drugs or substances, or high doses of probiotics. Jini’s Wild Oregano Oil Protocol is unique in that it combines the two methods, using 100% natural substances, for maximum effectiveness in both eradicating infectious microorganisms, maintaining a healthy bacterial flora during antimicrobial supplementation, and maintaining a healthy gut environment ongoing, for continued long-term health.
This 3-Phase protocol is designed to eliminate infectious microorganisms (like mycobacterium, fungi, bacteria, yeast, viruses, parasites, etc.), provide a moderate level of detoxification, and restore beneficial gut flora. By healing the infection we also heal inflammation. Other supplements referred to in my Listen To Your Gut book (such as MucosaCalm, George’s ‘Always Active’ Aloe Vera Juice, L-Glutamine, etc.) are then used to heal ulceration, bleeding, and repair the intestinal wall and mucosal lining.
Jini’s Probiotic Retention Enema
This retention enema, which delivers very high dose probiotics directly to your colon (and lower part of your ileum) can provide dramatic healing results. As the name suggests, this is not a cleansing or flushing enema, but rather it is an implant or retention enema – where the goal is to hold the mixture in your colon until the liquid is completely absorbed.
Many people use Jini’s Probiotic Retention Enema during severe inflammation and bleeding for quick healing, whilst others prefer to wait until things have calmed down a bit and they’re tolerating the probiotics well orally first. You really have to just follow your own body wisdom (intuition) on when would be best for you. Even people who have not seen great results from oral probiotic supplementation (it takes longer and can be more difficult to colonize via oral supplementation) see significant symptom clearing following this retention enema.
Enjoy!

Great Website can’t find the enema directions can u explain. I have recently found out I had crohns changed my life. I told my doctor I’m not that person….He informed me that my whole colon would have to be removed they tried every thing until we used Remicaid it worked I left the hospital with my whole colon. I continued a couple of treatments but, I knew if I ate correctly and stuck to a strict diet I could heal myself. My doctor however was not convinced and reported that I was “Uncompliant”. I have not had any flair ups since only I cannot get rid of the swelling in my stomach. Any suggestions??? Thanx! Shannon
I really hate Western doctors. I’m glad you listened to your…gut. Have you heard of Chris Wark? He’s another good source I respect.
I cant find whats in the probiotic retention enema, would you please tell me where I can find this info. Can this be found in the local GNC?
I too am looking for the info of how and what or the how to for the enema where do i find it? Thanks
I think I might of found the answer. I guess I need to buy your books to understand the whole process and that is where I will find out how to buy it or make it. Let me know if I am on the right track. Thanks Tacy
Hi Tacy and Dena, Until now, you had to buy my Listen To Your Gut book to get the info for the Probiotic Retention Enema. However, Jay Baluk (CrohnsBoy) wrote me that he had so many people who did NOT want to buy the book, they JUST wanted the Probiotic Retention Enema and Jini’s Wild Oregano Oil Prootocol – that I have now prepared an Ebook with just these protocols in it.
thanks,
Jini
I would really love to get a copy of the WOO protocol. I am a German 22 years old female suffering from colitis and my life is a hell .I have been following this website for so long but can’t get your book over here. I am really so frustrated with myself and this disease and see no hope. Would it be possible to get a free Woo protocol since i am a student and really don’t have the money since I already need to pay for many of the supplements that I ordered from the USA to be shipped here.
Please help me in my desperate situation
Your post is from 6-7 years ago- how are you doing? Did you find some relief?
Look up Mutaflor if your in Germany
Hi Jini
I got your email regarding Oil of Oregano thank you. I already have your free report on Oil of Oregano but I couldn’t find the answer to my question which is – if I take Oil of Oregano for a digestive system problem how long do I have to take it to give it a reasonable amount of time to work?
Steve
Hi Steve, the e-book in the post above has all the answers to your question and more! Basically, it depends on what you’re infected with. So the duration for Jini’s Wild Oregano Oil Protocol is about 3 weeks – but you may have to cycle on and off it – depending on what you’re infected with. You keep cycling on and off – with breaks in between – until you’re clear of symptoms.
So, how it takes to work, depends on what your problems are and what you’re infected with, and how long you’ve had this (how entrenched is it). So you get started (but you MUST combine with high dose probiotics) and see how it goes.
Jini
Thanks for the answer.
What am I infected with? Well that is the real unknown problem. I have had 6 stool tests and they were all clear as were many blood tests. I have not been diagnosed with IBS but there are some similarities. So for example, when you treat someone with IBS how long do you use Oil of Oregano for please?
Steve
There are bugs like mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis (MAP) which are bacterial-fungal hybrids and can only be detected by testing for their DNA.
So, I repeat, you just have to get started on the Protocol and keep cycling on and off it for as long as you need to. If you have MAP, they have a 2-3 year lifecycle, where they go active (you kill them) then dormant. Then 2-3 months later they become active again, so you need to go back on the protocol and kill the next batch. And so on.
So you do the protocol for the 2-3 week duration, followed by high dose probiotics and who knows? One round may be all you need…
Jini
Sorry, maybe I am being dumb but let’s suppose that someone doesn’t have MAP. Let’s suppose they have Ulcerative Colitis or IBS and nobody knows if they have a pathogen. Do they keep taking Oil of Oregano forwever in the hope they will get better, or do they just take it for say 3 weeks and if no improvement one can assume they do not have an infection?
I have got your Oil of Oregano and Probiotic Retention Protocol and it says to take it until the infection is resolved. But people with Ulcerative Colitis and IBS do not know if they have an infection or not. If they don’t have an infection and they follow the protocol they will end up taking it indefinitely. Considering that you say that Oil of Oregano is as strong as the antibiotic vancomycin perhaps it is not a good idea to take it for so long and this is my concern. I am taking high dose probiotics plus retention enemas but of course nobody knows yet how successful these are at re-populating the gut.
I asked the owner of a company which supplies Oil of Oregano how long should one take it orally to see if it would be beneficial or not and he said “two weeks”, but I go the impression that he didn’t really know.
I don’t think a doctor would expect someone to take anitbiotics forever in the hope that it might work or not. I think there would be a specific time period.
Sorry about this repeated question but this is a concern to me and no doubt others who visit your site.
Regards
Steve
STEVE – Okay, sorry, I get now where the sticking point is:
1. It’s very important to keep in mind that Jini’s Wild Oregano Oil Protocol is NOT just wild oregano – the combination (and timing) WITH the probiotics is key.
2. Normally, people start to see an improvement in symptoms within 3-4 days and by 1 week for sure. You’re correct, if you see no positive changes, after 1 week, then that is likely not your problem (or solution).
3. Natural healing progresses most rapidly if you can address ALL of your symptoms – that way you can benefit from the synergy. This is why Listen To Your Gut is almost 500 pages long and the Workbook on the CD-Rom takes you through it chapter by chapter, so by the end you have a customized treatment protocol based on YOUR particular symptoms.
For example, one person with IBS may have a strong, or primarily infective component. But for another person, their main contributors are diet and stress (a job they hate, a destroying relationship – something big).
Anyway, getting back to the wild oregano – the reason most people say two weeks is because beyond that, you really need to take probiotics to replace bacteria getting killed off. Same way EVERYONE SHOULD take probiotics after drug antibiotic usage.
hope that nails it for you. Thanks for persevering!
p.s. One last thing – make sure you are taking your probiotics at least 2 hours away from your wild oregano.
p.p.s. My answer above of 1 week is assuming that there is no Herxheimer Reaction going on (as I wrote you in the first email on FB). If there is a Herx. / die-off of pathogens effect going on, that in itself usually lasts 1 – 2 weeks. Then AFTER that is when you see the improvement.
Actually, I’m glad we have had this exchange below the blog post – because this exchange is a prime example of why I held out so long before making only a piece of the info in LTYG available. It really is best if you read the whole book and get a good understanding of how all the various pieces work together first. Not only does this speed your learning curve, it also shortens the frustration.
best,
Jini
NEELA – we have shipped 100’s of copies of Listen To Your Gut to Germany.
Please sign up for my Free Gut Guide. Also free is my newsletter, and do a keyword search on any topic on this blog and there is tons of advice there.
Jini, I have the ebook & your book “Listen to Your Gut” and just started using Trinity but I still would like to take the Wild Oregano OIl but I’m currently taking 3 prescription drugs. Can I still start the Wild Oregano Oil??
Ken
Ken – well the concern is to not overload your liver. So I guess the question would be: If you weren’t taking the wild oregano, would you take an antibiotic? In that case, the wild oregano is less damaging than an antibiotic.
Also, we don’t know the health or capacity of your liver, so the only way is to test it and see.
By the way, if you have Listen To Your Gut, you don’t need to buy the ebook (above) as the information is already contained in LTYG – contact us for a refund.
Jini, I guess I didn’t make myself clear. I’m not taking antibiotics
but taking Flomax (Tamaulosin) .4mg for the prostate; Zocor (Simvastatin) 20mg
for the heart; Levothyarocxine .025 for the thyroid; & Lisinopril 10mg for the heart.
I lost count the first email and the actual count total is 4 drugs. I’m 80 years old and I also have bradycardia (low heart rate). I guess wild oregano is out of the question?! Also, thanks for the info on the refund…..
Ken Marschall
I really don’t know Ken – best to check with your doc.
I am both soy and lactose intolerant and cant take the Natren probiotocs because they contain soy. Are there any alternativs, others must have run into this problem, soy is a common allergin. What else can I take? Please let me know.
Thanks,
Lily
I found out that the mixed tocophyrls in the Natren produces are not made from soy but from sunflower oil. There non dairy probiotics are cultured on garbanzo beans!! Good to find a company who thinks of everything when it comes to allergens or intolerances.
Thanks
LIly
My husband who has crohns doesn’t want to do an enema himself although I think he really need to. Does anyone know how can make probiotics inserts with natren probiotics? I read somewhere that a man does his own inserts using natren but am not sure how he do it? I live in Singapore, do you know any doctor who will do a probiotics enema. Coffee enema is common here but not probiotics. Thanks
CASSANDRA – he can insert the Natren capsules (but not the Healthy Trinity capsules as they are enteric-coated) into his rectum and see if he can retain them until they dissolve. The other solution is to use a baby enema and just inject a small amount at a time, then maybe do it daily or every 2nd day.
Any practitioner who can administer a coffee enema or a colonic (and I know there are colon hydroptherapists and naturopathic doctors in Singapore as I used to live there) can administer the probiotic retention enema – you just need to give them the instructions, OR mix it up for them, ready to go in the enema bag.
[…] Now, having said all that, over the years we have also found that people get the BEST results from starting with Jini’s Wild Oregano Oil Protocol (which has you taking wild oregano all day and then one dose of probiotics before bed). And then from there (once infection is under control and the mucosal lining strengthened) transitioning onto high dose oral probiotic supplementation three times per day. Some also do Jini’s Probiotic Retention Enema too at that point. If you are interested in just those protocols (without the rest of the book), we sell the eBook here: http://www.listen2yourgut.com/blog/probiotic-retention-enema/ […]
Interesting! I just have what I think is chronic constipation. Once in a while I have good bowel movements but most of the time bloat in the afternoons. I have tried everything and no help. Is it possible for you to send me the ebook LTYG? I Would highly appreciate it.

[…] A while back I posted about Jay “CrohnsBoy” Baluk’s success using my Probiotic Retention Enema. […]
Is it safe to do probiotic or oil of oregano enemas in pregnancy? I am in my first trimester (week 11) and unfortunately suffered from a c.diff infection. They treated me with metronidazole, which was AWFUL to take when I was already nauseous. I ended up in hospital with IV antibiotics for 10 days–just so I could keep them down. I KNOW it’s not gone. I’ve been out for a week, and my bowels are so abnormal & irritated. I’ve been searching the internet for probiotic enemas (sounds a bit more pleasant that stool transplant). I’m pounding the oral probiotics, but I just keep thinking getting some probiotics into the colon is likely best achieved, well, via the colon. I just don’t know how safe it it for my baby, as I know enema stimulation could cause uterine contraction in the first trimester. ANY THOUGHTS?
TRACEY – if you use a smaller amount of liquid, say 1/2 cup to start for Jini’s Probiotic Retention Enema, and flow it in VERY slowly, it may be fine. Best to check with your doctor as I don’t know your history or situation.
Hi Jini. I have tried the Probiotic Retention Enema recently, and found it immensely helpful for a colitis flare. I am, however, still experiencing mild symptoms. My question: how often do you suggest repeating the procedure? And how long do you suggest waiting to repeat the procedure? And thank you so much for your thoughtful insights!
Hi Seth,
We have some customers who do the enema as often as on a daily basis until their symptoms have subsided but it all comes down to what you feel you can deal with. If you’re more comfortable with oral probiotic supplementation, you can always do that daily and then do the enema once per week if that’s more manageable.
Kind regards,
Justin

Has anyone tried the probiotic retention enema for a c. difficile infection. My boyfriend has been plagued with this infection for 15 months. It recurs immediately after he stops taking his oral vancomyacin, regardless of how gradually he tapers off of it, so he’s taking it indefinitely now. To complicate matters, he has had crohn’s for more than 20 years, and has only a j-pouch left of his colon. He was taking Humira for the crohn’s, but stopped several months ago. Fortunately, the crohn’s has been in remission. His Drs. are out of ideas, and are recommending removing the J-pouch & living with a colostomy bag for the rest of his life; he is only 42 years old. His infectious disease Dr. gave him vancomyacin enemas when he was in the hospital, & they helped stop the infection from progressing. I was curious if a strong probiotic enema could help outnumber the c.diff spores with good bacteria.
Lena, I think the first step is to see whether your boyfriend is even ready to take charge of his health.
If he is, then he will need to spend some time educating and researching natural protocols as he has quite a severe case by now.
I would start by investigating this Probiotic Retention Enema and perhaps combining it with fecal infusion – although he may need to contact either Bianca James or Dr. Thomas Borody to see whether the fecal infusion would be a good idea with no colon.
Alternatively, he could book with Dr. Paul Goldberg, who has access to a lot of advanced diagnostics.
More on all of these here:
http://shoppe.listentoyourgut.com/private-health-consults/
Having said all that, yes, we have heard from people who have healed their C. difficile infection using my protocols – but I’m not sure if they had been on as many drugs as your boyfriend (drugs cause a lot of collateral damage) and I believe they all had a colon.
Hi Justin & Jini,
What’s a good procedure for “ramping up” the probiotic dosage in the retention enema so as to avoid the die-off effect? I don’t recall seeing that in “Listen to your Gut”. Is there a minimum dose to be at all effective? Is it absolutely necessary to clean out the colon first at the lower doses?
Hi Garth,
If you’re concerned about die off, you could always just supplement orally for 1-4 weeks (depending on how quickly the die off effects subside) as that would be a adequate ramp up before doing your first enema.
Kind regards,
Justin

When we take oil of oregano drops, sometimes when we have open ulcers, it definitely irritates them
But in your protocol you advise to take few drops under the tongue.
I used to take them like 5-10 drops in a cup of water. But it will aggravate the ulcers. When I have flare ups I can see immediate bowel movements with blood..
please advise..I am confused in following your oil of oregano protocol when we have inflammation in my colon.
thanks
prasanna
Hi Prasanna,
Jini is unable to advise you about your specific condition but you may want to try out olive leaf extract as it’s a milder alternative to wild oregano oil and may work better for you if the wild oregano oil is too harsh. Here’s a link with more information about that:

After following jini’s protocol can any one eat foods in high carbohydrates?
Hi Prasanna,
Jini’s Absorb Plus product is actually quite high in carbohydrates so, if you’re able to consume that without issue, then high carb counts shouldn’t be a problem.

Justin & Jini,
I have 19 inches left in my large colon from a subcolectome with illeocecal valve retention. I did your probiotic retention enema today for the first time. I found it best for me to buy a fleet enema and throw away the saline solution that it came with.
I cleansed my colon prior to the retention enema by using warm water in the fleet bottle. When I made the paste from the probiotics, I mixed it witb warm filtered water. I poured the mixture into the clean fleet enema bottle.
I held the retention enema in for an hour. I figure for a 19 inch colon that is good. Of course my recipe for the enema was about cut in half because my colon is around 1/3 of the normal person.
I just wanted to let you know that an empty, rinsed fleet enema is a good alternative to an enema bag for someone with a surgically reduced large colon.
It is too soon to see if it worked, but I thought I was supposed to do this monthly, not daily. From the above comments, some folks are doing this every day.
Hi again Justin & Jini,
I just wanted to add my above comment that I used to do ice cube enemas, and that was the only thing to help inflammation. I put in one ice cube at a time, with about a minute or two in between. I discovered that ice was the only thing that healed my anal fissures. It was just so hot and inflamed. I felt immediate relief and swelling go down upon contact. the doctors said that the fissures would go away when the disease got better. The proctologist was shocked when I told her about the ice and she responded, “REEEEALLY?”
I had to do the ice thingy everyday for awhile. It seemed to cool everything down. I want to clarify that it was not a crushed ice water enema. I very slowly inserted a small ice cube one at a time waiting a minute or two in between. I usually did about ten or so ice cubes.
I hope I do not have to do this probiotic enema daily.
Hi Susan,
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences. It’s great to hear that you were able to find some relief using ice cubes like you did – that’s very interesting. Jini doesn’t generally recommend doing the probiotic retention enema daily. Even if you aren’t able to take probiotics orally for some reason, the enema would only be necessary a few times per week since it’s more of a “supercharged” solution, comparatively speaking. We’d love to hear how the enemas work out for you!
Kind regards,
Justin,

Could you send me the pdf format of the e book, if i book Natural healing process for IBS and IBD. and Natural treatments for Gut infection?
I am suffering from Severe colon cramps and H.pylori infection for the last 30 years. I am trying various natural supplements but i want to know the protocol.
Hi Satish,
I see that you’ve now purchased that eBook so if you have any questions about the protocols please let me know!

Frankly, I think it’s a bit beyond opportunistic to need to be paid a few bucks just to share your thoughts on probiotic enemas. It’s not what people do who want to help other people.
Sorry, but no respect for you, Jini.
Hello D,
We’re sorry that you feel that way. Jini’s detailed instructions and info about probiotic retention enemas used to only be available in her main book, Listen to Your Gut, but she released this smaller and more affordable eBook so that the protocol would be more easily accessible. Jini truly cares about helping people which is why she started this business in the first place; she wanted to share the various things she used and did to heal her own Crohn’s disease. If she could give all of her books and ebooks away for free she definitely would but she’s just making a living like everyone else. Jini invests a ton if time writing, researching, and testing so that she can then offer protocols which people will find useful and offers them at what she considers a reasonable price. Thanks so much for the feedback and we wish you all the best on your healing journey!
Kind regards,
Justin

I have just been told that I have IBS , I have purchased 2 tubs of the absorb and I’m waiting for the oregano. I have used the absorb and found it very soothing to my system, I am only taking it 1x a day because or the cost .I also am eating homemade chicken noodle soup and jello mixed with cottage cheese. I have lost 3.8 lbs which I can’t really afford as I am a very thin woman.please tell me what I should be taking and what order . I also am very weak and sometimes nauseous.
Hi Linda,
Since cost is a factor, here are two links to posts where Jini talks about using common foods for IBS/IBD:

I did the probiotic retention enema last night and this morning it looks like the majority of the probiotics came out in my bowel movement. 🙁 is that normal? I really hope those two hours laat night werent wasted!
Sara,
Yes it is supposed to come out. If you were able to keep it in for the whole night that is great time to let it sit and help heal.

I see in a previous post to not do the healthy trinity capsules, so my next question is it worth doing it with the capsules mega d, digesta lac, and bifido, will it be as effective? Do you have any results from other readers, or personally?
Hello Brad,
We generally would recommend using the probiotic powders to do the enema, as it is more cost efficient, and you don’t have to open a bunch of capsules and figure out how many to use. However, you still could use the capsule ones if you choose too. We have had several readers, as well as Jini herself, have great success from using doing the probiotic enema. Please let us know if you have any other questions we can help with.

Rachel

I have been using Jinis tools and advice for years and I believe she is the reason I am in such good shape to date! I have just started the wild oregano protocol as I am now getting huge allergic reactions that require an epi pen, I have been taking the trinity probiotics every night for a year and assumed I would not experience the die off effect. My first dose of 1 tsp of each probiotic gave me a headache and I felt ill almost right away. What is the best way to build myself up and how long will this go on for? I’m anxious to get things going!
Hello Caitlin,
That is great that you have been doing so well from Jini’s information. It can be common for the Wild Oregano Oil protocol to cause a die off effect. If it continues we recommend to start on smaller dosages and than build up. Hope you are able to start feeling better from it soon.

I am a Rn and colontherapist and wondered if you could please let me know the brand you use of probiotic and form? Is it liquid or powder from a capsule? I have been using Renew life or also called Advanced Natural brand of at least 30 billion per capsule and putting it in water and or chlorphyll into implant during or at end of colonic.
I wonder about using the coconut probiotic that is sold in health food store that is no sugar added.
thanks Shelley
Hello Shelley,
Thank you for the inquiry. The probiotics we recommend and trust can be found here: http://shoppe.listentoyourgut.com/shop-by-probiotics
For the Probiotic Enema we recommend using the powders as it is easier and cheaper to use with it. To take orally it would depends on the persons’ individual needs. You can see further information on each on the product pages. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Could you please confirm that inserting a probiotic capsule could be beneficial if doing the enema is not practical. If so, what brand specifically do you recommend.
Thanks,

Hello Amy,
Thank you for contacting us here. Jini only recommends Natren Brand Probiotics and uses through years of research and experience and the only one with all the requirements (probiotic strain selection, manufacturing, storage, and other factors effecting potency and efficacy) for both Oral supplementation and Enema. We also recommend to use powder form of Probiotics for the Enema.

Hi there,
I have a question regarding the Herxheimer reaction while with using the probiotic protocol for healing CD. I started using all 3 powders about 6 wks ago and I’m almost at 1 tsp for each one 2x/day.
I have had CD for close to 40 years and have had a lot of depression and anxiety that has been associated with the infection. I was basically free from depression for about 10 years but I had a flare (while living in India) that lasted almost 3 years. I returned to the States about 7 years ago and have not ever really regained my full health since then (typical CD symptoms, chronically fatigued with depression and anxiety).
Since starting the probiotics (I haven’t started the wild oregano yet) about 6 wks ago, I feel that I have had an increase in depression and anxiety/moodiness and brain fog. Is this a common Herxheimer reaction? I looked online but didn’t see much written about psychological symptoms associated with it. I am also reading conflicting info that says that the die off reaction will only last a couple of weeks then subside other info says it goes on until the infection resolves. I have good days and bad days where the psychological symptoms are concerned and would like to know if this is Herxheimer’s reaction.
I will be working with an energy healer soon to help with the symptoms/root causes in a few weeks but I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thank you very much!
Hi Maria,
Thank you for reaching out! Hi im 25 year old female from Singapore, I just bought the gut infection healing guide and the ibs book. I’ve been diagnosed very severe IBS after I gotten food poisoning from Korea. I’ve read that u lived in Singapore before, can I get your thoughts on where to get probiotic implants in Singapore? Could you recommend me a few places/doctors? Also if I’m taking probiotics in capsule form, how many capsules should I take for it to be considered high doses of probiotics to heal my IBS? Thanks.
Rgds,
An9rida
Hello An9rida,
Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately we’re not aware of any distributors of Natren Brand Probiotics in Singapore. LTYG ship worldwide, but you need to check with your Customs office to see if your country permits the shipment of your desired products. You can also contact Natren directly to check if they have any distributors in your country.
Based on clinical trials, you need to take a minimum of 7 to 10 billion CFU (colony-forming units) of each species, per day. Many people use Jini’s Probiotic Retention Enema during severe inflammation and bleeding for quick healing, whilst others prefer to wait until things have calmed down a bit and they’re tolerating the probiotics well orally first. The probiotic sections in Jini’s two books; Listen To Your Gut and Listen To Your IBS are over 30 pages long. This is because people with IBD (and severe IBS) need a good understanding of probiotics before they start dosing for the detailed information on what to look for, how to proceed, etc. to avoid the risk of triggering a flare.
We wish you all the best on your healing journey and please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
Cris B

Hi Guys,
I have been familiar with the protocols for several years now. Last night I did the probiotic retention enema (not my first time). Before administering it, I attempted to clear my colon with 1 cup of warm filtered water. I successfully retained the probiotic mixture all through the night. When I woke up, I felt very crampy, which was new for me after doing the treatment. I had a liquid movement of what looked like some of the probiotics and some mucous.
Is it possible that the enema irritated my gi tract (because of the mucous) or is that normal? It is the first time I had this reaction after doing the enema
Hi Lauren, mucous can be caused by any number of things, including a die-off or detox reaction. The important thing is to now connect with your body and see what it wants/needs next. Perhaps it needs another/more retention enemas, and perhaps it doesn’t want you to flush the colon first… Or perhaps it wants you to take a break and just use high dose oral supplementation… Did you use the Dairy or Dairy-free – perhaps your body wants the other. And so on. Let us know how it goes…
