BASIC_CHOCOLATE_FINALMany people have been asking for a vegetarian version of Absorb Plus and believe me, we are desperately wanting to make that available to you!

In the meantime, I have sourced some ingredients for you so that you can make up your own Vegan elemental shakes, and I have packaged the ingredients into Kits for easy ordering.

I give the recipe for making your own elemental shakes in my book, The IBD Remission Diet, however, it is very difficult to find some of the ingredients. Many of them are available only in bulk – like 500 kg bulk!

So we have contracted with some suppliers and packaged the ingredients up into smaller quantities.

Each of these Vegan Elemental Shake Kits contain a one-week supply of elemental shake ingredients, based on consuming 6 shakes per day.

You can choose from the Basic version – with only the elemental shake ingredients

Or the Premium version – which contains all the healing supplements as recommended in The IBD RemissionDiet as well.

After you’ve purchased your kit and you’re ready to mix up your first shake, here are the easy instructions for what to add and how much.

The only thing you might have difficulty with is knowing how much maltodextrin to use. The instruction sheet tells you to use 50 grams, which is about 1/3 of a rounded cup… but rounded how much? Well, here’s what 50 g looks like in my 1/3 cup measure:

And here’s my video showing you how easy it is to use your LTYG BlenderBottle (which you receive free in the kits) to whip up your shakes in about a minute.

BUT do not use the ingredients I show in this video, use your own ingredients from the elemental shake kit:

  • Hello, I am looking for a white rice Protein powder. I cannot do soups or any other shakes. The Brown Rice protein make s me cough and it is to chalky and gritty. I am afraid this will cause more damage. I have tried every brand

Does anyone know where I can buy WHITE rice protein?

    Please, help. Very weak

    1. Hi Le,

I’m afraid we aren’t aware of any company that manufactures a white rice protein powder product. Jini recommends the Sun Warrior classic which is a whole grain brown rice protein and offers it in her vegan kits as it is the best vegetable protein she has used. Sun Warrior also makes a product called “Warrior Blend” which is comprised of a mix of pea, cranberry, and hemp seed protein so you may want to take a look at that one if you haven’t already. If you find a powder that works well for you, we’d love to hear about it and we wish you all the best in your search!

  • THose that you mentioned make me feel worse. Hemp is even more gritty. Warrior is gritty and sour. I cant do sour because the acid drops my ph.

  • Dear LTYG:

I tested sensitive for corn and tapioca. My ferritin levels are high. What kind of elemental diet would you recommend?

    1. Hi Violet,

Jini details out her elemental diet protocol for children in her book, The IBD Remission Diet. For more information about that, check out the link below:

  • I got the vegan shake for my eight year old son. He can’t seem to get pass the gritty of the shake so instead of adding water I used hemp and rice milk to tone it down some. Still does not like it but it take him the whole day to finish off one cup. I’m not giving up still trying because he needs the nutrition.

    1. Hi Violet,

Thanks for the update! That’s a good idea to temper the consistency of the shake. We’d love to hear more about your son’s progress down the line as well if you’d like to share.

      All the best,

  • Hi Violet,

That’s great news. Hopefully he should be on his way to gaining and maintaining healthy weight as a result.

    1. Hi Joseph,

You could use dextrose but the uptake is much quicker than with maltodextrin so it would likely result in a ‘sugar rush’ feeling followed by a sugar crash so we use and recommend the tapioca maltodextrin as the optimal way to go.

  • I got the week supply of vanilla protein shake and a tube of chocolate protein shake. I like both of them, the vanilla my choice sometimes I combine them together using water, will try using a nut milk the next time. I give a thumb up for both of them. To me they are the best vegan shakes next to absorb vanilla plus my favorite just saying.

    1. Hi Jess,

Each vegan shake would be about 375 calories if you use 1 tbsp of the Udo’s oil, 50g of tapioca maltodextrin and 1 serving (21g) of the Sun Warrior vegan protein powder.

  • Hello Jini! I recently used the elemental kit diet, a month ago i came down with a bad case of diverticulitis, very painful and swollen, even my bladder was in pain, I could hardly walk. I now believe the flair up was caused by a steroid epidural I had 2 weeks prior, due to low back pain, car accident related. I had not had a flair up this bad and none at all in 10 years. The antibiotic were brutal on my gut too. As soon as I came home I researched and found you on YouTube. I follow the bone broth for 7 days, as I could not eat at all, I lost 10 lbs. in the first 4 days… and when inflammation was down, I started the elemental kit for a week. The results were amazing: I started to have energy, my skin cleared, I have brown spots on face for years, my wrinkles even went away! my hair was thinning for year and it also got better. I’ve had joint pain for years, my body does not detox well…that also was relieved! Now I am taking the Absorb Plus and doing 3 shakes a day, and at night I am eating very carefully, started slow with cooked carrots, etc., my digestion is very slow and does not move every day… I understand how dangerous is to be constipated, I am drinking plenty of water and Calm, calcium citrate every night with potassium but still very sluggish. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your wisdom, I will now continue the Absorb Plus routine to lose the 30 lbs. that i need to, I’m 14 lbs. down now in 4 weeks. Can’t thank you enough!!

    1. Wow Aida it’s great to hear that you experienced positive results in your testing of Absorb Plus. Thanks so much for sharing and we’re looking forward to hearing more about your progress!

      Kind Regards,

  • I cannot use the Vegan Shake due to my diverticulitis and IBS. However, I continue to use the Absorb Plus Plain even though I am dairy sensitive. I am hoping that since it’s elemental, it will bother my stomach. I really would like travel size as the big tub is too cumbersome.

    1. Hi Davi,

Thank you for your comment and we hope Absorb Plus is working well for you! We do offer the sample size tubs which are a little more convenient for traveling or some customers will put individual servings into ziplock bags to take with them during travel.

  • I’ve ordered the Sun Warrior classic vanilla. Someone commented they couldn’t use it because of IBS. I don’t do well with whey protein so what’s an old gal supposed to do?

    1. Hi Linda,

The Sun Warrior Classic line uses a vegan rice protein so it might be fine for you if you’ve never experienced any issues with rice in the past. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback about the vegan proteins and we’d love to hear your thoughts as well.

If you decide not to try the product, you can return the unopened container to the LTYG Shoppe (assuming that’s where you purchased it) within 30 days of your purchase for a refund.

      Have a great day,

  • What about using Goatein instead of the rice protein? I have UC and severe constipatin and the sun warrior gives me a stomach ache.

    1. Hi Leah,

Thanks for reaching out. Jini have not used/tried Goatein® so we do not have any comments/suggestion. As always, Listen to your Gut.
